Widely regarded as the most important chair design of the 20th century. “The Chair” appeared during the first televised U.S. presidential debate between John F. Kennedy vs Richard Nixon. Both candidates sat in Wegner chairs and this was the moment that cemented Wegner’s international fame. He Introduced Danish Modern to mainstream America and literally led to Americans calling it “The Chair”
