Mid century modern metal sculpture by renowned artist Mario Janson of Buenos Aires, Argentina. This "Tree of Life" or “Bonsai” style piece features hand-welded, torch-cut brass and copper leaves on a textured steel trunk. It is beautifully mounted on a heavy, polished banded onyx base.
Mario Jason (born 1938) is a highly collectible artist known for his "Modernist" and "Brutalist" style sculptures throughout the 1960s and 70s.
